Description

The new IQ8HC supports solar modules up to 405W, targeting high-power residential and commercial solar applications. There is no enforced DC/AC ratio and maximum input power.  Modules can be paired as long as the maximum input voltage is not exceeded and maximum input current of the inverter at the lowest and highest temperatures are respected.

The smart-grid ready Enphase IQ 8HC Microinverter is a high power, high current variant of the seventh-generation IQ platform and is designed for 54-cell/108 half-cell, 60-cell/120 half-cell, 66-cell/132 half-cell, 72-cell/144 half-cell modules.

All IQ Microinverters are all-weather with an IP67 certification. A double-insulated, corrosion-resistant polymer housing means they’re rated to withstand just about anything Mother Nature can throw at them.

• Commissioning of IQ8 Series Microinverter systems requires Enphase Installer App version 3.28.0 or higher.
• IQ8 Series Microinverters cannot be mixed together with previous generations of Enphase microinverters (IQ7 Series, IQ6 Series, etc) on the same IQ Gateway.

What’s the difference between Enphase IQ8AC and IQ8HC microinverters?

Enphase has released the new IQ8 range of inverters in Australia and New Zealand. These inverters have been designed to suit the latest generation of high-output solar modules. Both microinverters have an impressive Maximum input current rating of 14A. The C in the model number indicates “high Current” and the H indicates “High power”.

The IQ8HC has a higher maximum rated power of 380W compared with the IQ8AC which has a maximum rated power of 360W. This provides installers with the ability to choose the lower power rated version, the IQ8AC, when using a high output solar module that suits.

Solar modules that were compatible with the IQ7A microinverter will typically maintain compatibility with the IQ8HC and IQ8AC microinverters as well. However, opting for the IQ8HC microinverter offers some advantages compared to the IQ7A and IQ8AC. Not only can the IQ8HC have panels up to 505W, they can also enable you to get more power (384W peak) out of your module compared to the IQ7A’s/IQ8AC’s (366W peak), giving you different microinverter options for most panels up to 480W.
